Hard work about to get under way for Petersfield Town

IT’S BARELY seven weeks since the end of the last campaign, but the hard work ahead of the new football season begins for Petersfield Town next week.

The Rams are holding their first pre-season training session at Love Lane next Tuesday (June 20) at 7pm.

A?lot has happened in the last seven weeks, including the appointment of a new manager – Jim Macey has replaced John Robson in the managerial hotseat.

Macey has wasted no time in bolstering the Petersfield squad ahead of the new campaign by securing the services of seven new signings.

He has brought in a mix of experienced players and bright young talent to add to the players already in place at Love Lane.

The new Rams boss is ready to get the countdown to the new season under way and he is looking forward to seeing both his new signings and those who were with the club last season.

He said:?“I?have added some good players to an already decent squad that we have at Petersfield. Any new players are welcome to attend pre-season training whether they want to try to get into the first team or reserves.”

Macey has around two months to get his squad into shape ahead of Petersfield’s return to the Wessex Premier Division following their relegation at the end of the last campaign from the Southern League.

A?programme of pre-season friendlies is due to be confirmed shortly.
